Daily lesson plan (Macroteaching)

6. Topic                                   : Animals
7. Learning objectives             : Pupils will be able to:
·         Say and write the animals’ name.
·         Name correctly the different kinds of animals shown.

8. Learning Outcomes             : At the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to:
a)      Know the names of different type of animals.
b)      Identify the animals’ sounds.
c)      Read aloud animals’ name with the correct pronunciation.
9. Pre-requisite knowledge     : Pupils have seen different type of animals around them in
                                                daily life.

10. Scientific skills                  : Communication
                                                 * Pupils using models they design to describe the animals’
                                                    names and sounds of animals made to class.
11. Thinking skills                   : Find the differences  
·         Pupils will determine the difference of animals sound.

12. Teaching and learning       : Video clips of “ Old  McDonald had a farm”, handout                    resources         of  lyrics, animals’ pictures, name and sounds cards, shoe   box, plasticine ,    glue, scissors , used magazines, colour pencils and paper.

- pupils relate the sound of  animals.
Eliciting of ideas
( 5 minutes )
Sounds of animals
*duck - quack
* cat - meow
*cow - moo
*sheep- baa
1. Pupils listen to the sounds of animals recognized through the song.
2. Randomly pick five pupils and ask them to imitate the sounds of animals in front of the class.
3. Others voice out the names of animals.
Material needed:
  1. Old Mcdonald” song video clips.
  2. Its scripts


Restructuring  of ideas
( 5 minutes)
Sounds of other animals and its names.
1. Introduce other animals around them.
Animals- names and sounds
2. Pupils are given a short time game “Mix and Match”.
3. Stick the name of animals and its sound to the appropriate animals.


4. Pupils worked in pair.
Example:
Snake-sshh
Dog-bow
Elephant- trumpet

Materials needed:
1.Different types of  animals’ picture.

2.Animals’ name and sound cards, slide power point.



3.  Plasticine to paste answer to the picture on board.
Application  of ideas
(10 minutes )
Different type of animals in the Zoo
 * Tiger
 * Pig
 *Horse
* Birds
   and etc
1.Pupils are divided in to group of eight.
2. Each group  have to design diorama of animals in Zoo.
3. Teacher provides instructions and materials to each group.
4. Pupils design any of the animals in the Zoo.
5. Then, each group will present their diorama to other group.
* Explain the names of animals.
* The sound of each animal.
   Example: Tiger- roar
Material needed:

Activity A :-
( teacher handout only)
* glue
* scissors
* color paper &  pencils
* plasticine
* used magazines
* news paper
Conclusion
( 5 minutes )
Pupils will recall the animals and their sounds
* Cat - meow
* Sheep-baa
* Tiger-roar
* Birds-tweet
1. Recap the different types of animals and its proper sound.
2.Pupils’ mouth along as teacher said.
3. Give homework to each pupils and ask to complete.
Material needed:

Activity B :
“Complete the animals with the correct spelling and sounds”.
